While the premise is intriguing and the cast as well as visuals are great, the overall film is very slow and the way the story unfolds in the first 60 minutes of this resurrection narrative is not interesting. However, the main issue this horror thriller runs into is that its 1st 2 acts are pretty boring. The entire cast sells the more absurd heart of this story’s premise and, in particular, Sarita Choudhury as Pallavi’s mom Usha does an excellent job of driving you crazy as well as making you 2nd guess the plot. The cinematography is very sharp, the film likes stunning at times, and the cast is also great with Sunita Mani being a fun charismatic lead.

Evil Eye, directed by Elan Dasani and Rajeev Dassani, presents some interesting ideas based around resurrection and the film overall has a very strong finish, but for the most part this is a very slow thriller that for the majority of its run time is a pretty boring watch.Īpart of the Welcome to the Blumhouse film series and based on the audio play of the same name by Madhuri Shekar, this adaptation follows Pallavi who is consistently being shamed by her mother Usha for not having a boyfriend.
